ENGL 290 - Intermediate Writing and Research |
Intensive practice in conducting and writing original research. Critiquing current scholarship to determine gaps in a research problem; locating, organizing, evaluating, integrating, and documenting diverse sources in order to construct and support research-based arguments; identifying salient features of different kinds of researched writing.
Satisfies General Education Requirement: (WC).
Grading Restriction: A, B, C, No Credit grading only.
Credit Restriction: Students with credit for 102, 132, or 298 may not receive credit for 290.
(RE) Prerequisite(s): 101 through AP Credit.
Comment(s): Students are required to have ACT English and composite scores at or above 29 or SAT critical reading and composite scores of 680 and 1280. This course completes the first-year composition requirement.
