Basic Calculus - 43018 - MATH 125 - 001
URL: http://www.math.utk.edu/courses/Math125/125.htmll "Have you ever been in a flipped class? If not, this should be a great experience for you. Don't worry. There are no gymnastics or profane hand gestures involved in flipping a class. Flipping a class just means your in-class and out-of-class activities are switched. Rather than listening to a lecture and taking notes in class, you will be watching my video lectures and taking notes outside of class. The video lectures are exactly what I used to present live in class, but they've been enhanced with some fun technology and, unlike live lectures, you can replay the parts you need to see and hear again. When you are in class, you will be working on relevant activities in small groups designed to improve your skills and make connections between the concepts. There will also be some time in class to do homework. I look forward to teaching you this semester, and I hope you find this class format helpful!"

Basic Calculus - 43104 - MATH 125 - 035
URL: http://www.math.utk.edu/courses/Math125/125.htmllThis is a hybrid of a partially flipped and partially traditional lecture course. Senior Lecturer and Math 125 Course Coordinator, April Conner, has created lecture videos for the flipped portion of the course. Ms. Conner has also created the note taking guides and group work for the course. The flipped portion is approximately 50-60% of the course. Students are expected to watch the video lectures and take notes outside of class according to the course calendar (see course calendar link in the instructor supplement coming soon). During class time for the flipped sections, students work on quizzes and group work under the direction and supervision of their primary instructor. The traditional lecture portion is approximately 40-50% of the course where students take notes in a traditional format with their primary instructor during class.

EAP permission is required to register for this section.URL: http://www.math.utk.edu/courses/Math125/125.htmll"Have you ever been in a flipped class?
